APRIL International Care launches new TeleHEALTH service in Singapore

With the new TeleHEALTH service accessible on their Easy Claim app, APRIL members can now request a call back from a physician or even a second medical opinion directly on their smartphone.

SINGAPORE, October 29, 2019 — Accessing quality healthcare from the comfort of their homes, their offices or while traveling abroad; that’s what APRIL International Care now offers their members. With the new TeleHEALTH service accessible on their Easy Claim app, APRIL members can now request a call back from a physician or even a second medical opinion directly on their smartphone.

What are the benefits of TeleHEALTH?

APRIL’s mission throughout the years has been to make insurance easier for its members. TeleHEALTH is a powerful way for them to access professional medical advice while saving a trip of going to the clinic. General health questions about medications, illness, fever and more can be now answered with a simple call.

For more serious conditions, members can also receive a second opinion from a medical expert. Whether they wish to better understand a medical condition, learn more about treatment alternatives or need guidance to make critical medical decisions, they can get in touch with a licensed healthcare professional to receive the advice they need.

With the possibility to get in touch with a doctor 24/7 wherever they are in the world, APRIL members can now rest easy.  

A free service included in Singapore health insurance plans

TeleHEALTH is available to all new and renewing APRIL clients in Singapore. To make this possible, APRIL International Care partnered with the medical expert Teladoc Health, who possesses medical teams in 130 countries and speaking more than 30 languages.

Two new service levels are now available for free through the APRIL Easy Claim app:

  • Request a call back from a physician: after submitting a request on the app, the user will be contacted by a licensed medical practitioner within 3 hours.
  • Request a second medical opinion: for more complex medical cases, APRIL members can receive a second opinion. After discussing their case in more details with a medical expert, members will receive a detailed medical report within 10 days.

TeleHEALTH is APRIL’s latest service offered through their Easy Claim app, which is already widely used by their members to submit their medical claims, send pre-approval requests for medical treatment, access their insurance eCard but also search and locate medical practitioners in Singapore and abroad. With the launch of TeleHEALTH, APRIL International Care intends to make access to quality healthcare even easier.
