AXA Insurance Strengthens Position as Health Partner with Telemedicine Offering for Corporate Clients

AXA Insurance today announced that it will be bringing medical teleconsultation services to insured members of its corporate clients in Singapore, following a successful pilot last year. According to the Ministry of Health, the telemedicine sector has grown in recent years and it is set to become a key feature of Singapore’s healthcare landscape

“Telemedicine brings convenience in times when it is most appreciated, something that respondents also highlighted in a recent survey we conducted. As technology becomes integrated into more aspects of our lives, we will continue to leverage it as we introduce new ways to partner our customers in their health journey,” said Jean Drouffe, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Insurance.

To deliver this offering to its corporate clients, AXA has partnered with healthtech company Doctor Anywhere. Employees of AXA’s corporate clients will have convenient access to on-demand video consultations with medical doctors licensed by the Singapore Medical Council whenever and wherever they need it via the Doctor Anywhere app.

The 24/7 platform allows users to consult a doctor within minutes or schedule an appointment for a later date without having to spend time travelling to a clinic and queuing to see a doctor, so they can focus on recovering. Patients who require medication can have it conveniently delivered to their doorstep within 3 hours of consultation. They can also easily access their medical history, prescription details, and medication documents such as specialist referral letters and electronic medical certificates (e-MCs) within the Doctor Anywhere app.

Additional benefits include access to a wellness marketplace offering health and wellness products and services, and the option to schedule a vaccination and health screening in the comfort of one’s home. AXA’s corporate clients can also request for Doctor Anywhere to provide vaccinations and health screening for its employees at their offices.

AXA has started to roll out the service to a group of corporate clients as well as its own staff. This follows on from a 3-month pilot with AXA staff from October to December 2019 which saw encouraging results and generated positive feedback.

“AXA’s partnership with Doctor Anywhere to provide quality healthcare at one’s fingertips is in line with our commitment to empower people to live better lives. We want to go beyond insurance by bringing new services that support the health and well-being of our customers,” added Drouffe.

Lim Wai Mun, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Doctor Anywhere, said, “We are pleased to be selected as AXA’s telemedicine partner as their purpose to empower people to live better lives aligns with our mission to improve healthcare delivery for better health outcomes. We look forward to working together to provide its customers convenient access to medical advice and help whenever they need it.”

In addition to this partnership, AXA and Doctor Anywhere are also collaborating on a Diabetes Care Programme that aims to help customers who are diagnosed with diabetes with critical illness prevention. The programme was launched in November 2019 and is available as a complimentary offering to AXA Super CritiCare policyholders. The 12-month personalised wellness programme provides support in managing diabetes conditions upon diagnosis of diabetes, and comprises six components: personalised consultations, dietary counselling with individualised nutritional plans, a fitness programme, eye screening, foot screening, and annual lab tests.
