AXA XL Insurance appoints Sylvie Gleises as Regional Chief Executive Officer, Asia

AXA XL Insurance has appointed Sylvie Gleises as Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Asia, effective March 24, 2025. Based in Singapore, she will oversee AXA XL’s strategic direction and operations across the region, reinforcing the company’s commitment to one of the world’s most dynamic commercial insurance markets. Ms. Gleises succeeds Gilles Fromageot, who has been appointed CEO of AXA Morocco and CIMA. In addition to her new regional responsibilities, Ms. Gleises will continue to serve as CEO for AXA XL Singapore Insurance operations, ensuring continuity in AXA XL’s local market strategy.

With two decades of experience in the insurance industry, Ms. Gleises has held several senior leadership roles since joining AXA Group in 2006. Her previous positions include CEO of Continental Europe & Global Head of Distribution & Marketing at AXA Art, Head of Revenue Synergies and Head of Client Management at AXA XL. Most recently, as CEO for AXA XL Singapore Insurance, Ms. Gleises has been instrumental in strengthening AXA XL’s market presence and driving business growth in a highly competitive environment.

Ms. Gleises graduated from ESCP French business school and holds a Master degree from the London School of Economics. She is the President of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and sits on the Global Advisory Board of TEFAF (The European Art Fair Foundation).
