Club Med Wins CSR Award at CCIFM Gala in Malaysia

Club Med has been honored with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award at the prestigious French-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFM) Gala. The event, attended by His Excellency Axel Cruau, French Ambassador to Malaysia, along with other prominent Malaysian and French dignitaries, celebrated the company’s impactful initiatives in Malaysia.

This award recognizes Club Med's deep commitment to CSR, which is embedded in the company’s values and strategic goals. In Malaysia, this commitment is expressed through initiatives focused on local biodiversity protection, wildlife conservation, and support for surrounding communities, particularly at their Cherating resort.

Club Med’s CSR program is centered around three main pillars:

  1. Nature is Your Playground: Club Med encourages guests to explore Malaysia’s extraordinary biodiversity through immersive experiences such as the Wildlife Discovery Trail and guided botanical hikes, aimed at fostering environmental awareness and respect.

  2. Green is Your Spirit: This pillar invites guests to support local conservation efforts, including hands-on workshops on turtle conservation in partnership with the Turtle Conservation Society, inspiring environmental stewardship in both adults and children.

  3. Adventure is Your Benefit: At the Cherating seaside jungle retreat, outdoor activities like rock climbing, jungle trekking, and sailing are designed to promote an active, nature-friendly lifestyle.

Beyond these initiatives, Club Med prioritizes local development, with over 70% of its workforce sourced from the local community and additional educational support provided to nearby schools to enhance learning opportunities for local youth.

This award reinforces Club Med’s dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and local communities, solidifying its position as a CSR leader in the hospitality industry.
