CNRS@CREATE and National Quantum Office Sign MoU to Advance Quantum Cooperation Between France and Singapore
CNRS@CREATE announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and Singapore’s National Quantum Office, marking a major step forward in French-Singaporean collaboration in quantum science and technology.
The MoU was signed by Antoine Petit, Chairman and CEO of CNRS, and Mr Ling Keok Tong, Executive Director of the National Quantum Office. This strategic agreement will strengthen cooperation in two key areas:
-
Quantum energetics: exploring the relationship between energy, noise, and performance in quantum systems. The objective is to address fundamental questions in quantum theory and to develop sustainable, energy-efficient quantum technologies.
-
Quantum photonics: combining French expertise in photonics with Singapore’s advanced capabilities in device fabrication to enhance secure quantum communications and long-distance quantum networks.
This partnership also commemorates 60 years of diplomatic and scientific relations between France and Singapore, opening the door to deeper cooperation in innovation, research, and knowledge exchange.
Looking ahead, events such as the France–Singapore Quantum Summit (FSQS) will continue to support this shared ambition. The next edition will be held in France in November 2025.
This agreement signals a shared commitment to building a strong and sustainable quantum future.
