PLASTIC ODYSSEY STOPS OVER IN SINGAPORE
Plastic Odyssey, the global maritime expedition dedicated to combating plastic pollution, will be stopping over in Singapore from August 26 to September 4, 2024. With a packed schedule of events, this stopover is a unique opportunity for the public, media, and local partners to discover the innovative initiatives of this exceptional mission. The first highlight of the events is scheduled for August 26 with the press conference.
This stopover comes under the umbrella of "the Joint Year of Sustainability", an initiative launched by Singapore and France to underscore the shared commitment to addressing the urgent global challenge of sustainability and climate change and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this domain.

A STOPOVER FULL OF EVENTS AND DISCOVERIES
The Singapore stopover promises a series of captivating events:
- Press Conference: Presentation of the expedition, activities planned in Singapore, and local partners. A unique moment to understand the impact of Plastic Odyssey and interact directly with the key players of this adventure. The conference will be followed by VIP tours of the ship and individual meetings with team members.

- Opening event and Documentary Screening: Discover the Exhibition before the official opening, meet the team and watch the Plastic Odyssey Documentary Film.

- Nomadic Exhibition: Opening from August 27 until September 3rd at the Science Centre Singapore, this traveling exhibition highlights innovative alternatives to plastic discovered worldwide. PLASTIC ODYSSEY IN SINGAPORE, A GLOBAL INITIATIVE FOR A REGIONAL IMPACT IN ASIA
Since its departure, Plastic Odyssey has visited over 20 countries and supported more than 200 local recycling entrepreneurs. This stopover in Singapore is part of a global effort to develop plastic waste transformation projects in Asia and to implement awareness-raising actions for environmental protection.
Plastic Odyssey begins its mission in Asia with the ambition to develop a network of hundreds of micro-recycling plants in the areas most affected by plastic pollution. Singapore could play a crucial role in supporting these projects as a logistical base for solutions implemented in the heart of global ocean pollution
