Past Event | Breakfast Talk - Navigating the Blueprint of Sustainable Aviation
The French Chamber of Commerce started the month of June with a breakfast talk on Navigating the Blueprint of Sustainable Aviation, fostering a meaningful dialogue on the path towards a more sustainable future for the aviation industry. The event underscored the critical role of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), technological innovation and operational optimization in achieving the aviation industry's sustainability goals.
Mr. Antoine Javault, Deputy Regional Representative for ASEAN from Safran, kicked off the event with introductory remarks, setting the stage for the insightful discussions to follow Mr. Daniel Ng, Senior Director (Aviation Development Group) and Chief Sustainability Officer from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), delivered the keynote speech. Mr. Ng provided a comprehensive overview of the Singapore Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint, highlighting Singapore’s strategic short-term as well as long-term initiatives in steering the aviation industry towards sustainability.
Following the keynote, a dynamic roundtable discussion ensued, featuring a distinguished panel of experts:

- To kickstart SAF adoption in Singapore, flights departing Singapore will be required to use SAF from 2026. The government will aim for a 1% SAF target for a start, to encourage investment in SAF production and develop an ecosystem for more resilient and affordable supply. Goal is to raise the SAF target beyond 1% in 2026 to 3% - 5 % by 2030, subject to global developments and the wider availability and adoption of SAF.
- Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) emerged as a pivotal element in reducing the aviation industry's carbon footprint, with discussions highlighting its potential, current limitations, and prospects.
- Technological Innovations: Advancements in aircraft design, materials, and fuel technology are driving the industry towards greater efficiency and reduced emissions.
