Past Event | Building Momentum: Roundtable Discussion Ahead of MRO ASIA-PACIFIC
The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore hosted a roundtable discussion on "Building Momentum: Roundtable Discussion Ahead of MRO ASIA-PACIFIC" at Safran’s premises. This engaging event brought together key exhibitors, visitors, and committee members to discuss trends and challenges ahead of the highly anticipated MRO ASIA-PACIFIC tradeshow.
Thank you to our facilitators: Mr. Thomas Pellegrin, Consulting Partner & Transportation Leader at Deloitte Southeast Asia and Mr. Remy Aranda, Aerospace and Defence Asia Manager at Addev Materials for a wonderful session! Thomas provided fascinating insights into the role of AI in revolutionising Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations; Remy led an interactive discussion on the rising challenges facing the MRO industry, especially the high turnover rate and talent retention in this industry. The event enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of MRO and the technologies and strategies shaping its future. It also set the stage for continued dialogue and collaboration as the industry prepares for the MRO ASIA-PACIFIC tradeshow in Singapore later this month.
Key takeaways:
-
Scheduled maintenance often leads to inefficient use of both labor and materials.
-
Predictive maintenance and Aircraft Health Monitoring (AHM) leverage automated data analytics combined with machine learning for optimized decision-making.
-
Standardizing data sensing, acquisition, transfer, analysis, and response processes is essential for collaboration across stakeholders.
-
The anticipated benefits justify the initial investments required for AHM-compatible parts and systems.
-
Since each situation is unique, the feasibility and sustainability of AHM solutions need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
-
Our facilitator believes that AHM represents the future of MRO, and exploring ways to prepare for its adoption is highly beneficial.
-
A rising challenge of the industry is the high turnover rate, which has increased from 15% to 20%. This is fueled by a global competition for skilled labor, with MRO organizations needing to offer better pay, career development opportunities, and certifications to attract and retain talent.
Thank you Safran for hosting our members at their premises.
