Event report

Past Event | CEO Club with David Forrester senior FX strategist at Crédit Agricole CIB

The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore recently hosted a CEO Club session, gathering regional CEOs, VPs, and MDs from a variety of industries for an exclusive evening at the prestigious Tower Club, generously supported by Crédit Agricole CIB.

The event began with a warm welcome from Sylvie Gleises, President of the French Chamber. This was followed by an insightful presentation by David Forrester, Senior FX Strategist at Crédit Agricole CIB, who shared his expertise on the 2025 economic forecast.

Key takeaways highlighted a projected US slowdown in late 2024, rising unemployment, easing inflation, and tariff reductions. Europe is expected to face challenges, particularly in Germany and France, due to sluggish growth, defence spending pressures, and external inflation risks. China’s growth is forecast to remain below target, while Japan benefits from a weak yen. Southeast Asia continues to demonstrate resilience, led by Indonesia, and India shows promise despite political and employment hurdles.

The engaging presentation was followed by a dynamic Q&A session with the audience. The evening concluded with a networking session, accompanied by drinks and canapés kindly provided by Crédit Agricole CIB.

The exclusive series of CEO/VP/MD roundtables are designed to provide a unique platform for top-level executives to connect, learn, and exchange ideas with like-minded peers and to gain valuable insights into the latest economic, political and financial trends and best practices in their industries.
