Past Event | Member Dialogue with Minister Grace Fu followed by the Annual General Meeting 2024
Thank you, Minister Grace Fu, for your presence this morning with our community members at the occasion of the French Chamber Annual Meeting held at the Alliance Française on Thursday, June 6th
Thomas Baudlot, President of the French Chamber of Commerce, set the tone with a powerful message on the urgency of sustainability, highlighting the immediate need for action. Her Excellency Ms Minh-di TANG Ambassador of France to Singapore reinforced this statement by mentioning the Joint Year of Sustainability launched last April 2024 between PM Lawrence Wong and President Emmanuel Macron, a testament to the strong cooperation between France and Singapore in driving sustainability initiatives.
During a dialogue moderated by Thomas Baudlot, Minister Grace Fu delivered opening remarks emphasizing how Singapore's new Prime Minister is championing efforts to support the economy while prioritizing sustainable development. She shared key updates on the Singapore Green Plan 2030, detailing significant milestones and the challenges ahead. Minister Fu also highlighted current initiatives to boost the adoption of renewable energy sources and advance the circular economy, particularly in waste management and recycling.
The dialogue concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing our members to share their views on Singapore's sustainability journey.
This was followed by a presentation of the Chamber's achievements and activities during the past 12 months by Carine Lespayandel, Executive Director, and the financial report by Benoit Hanifi, Treasurer.
Thank you to all of our members for your participation.
