Past Event | Roundtable with French Maritime Delegations at the French Embassy
This morning, the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore - Team France Export and the French Embassy in Singapore hosted a significant meeting with representatives from French companies, the Directorate general for Maritime affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture (DGAMPA), the French International Register (RIF), and members of the Maritime Committee of the French Chamber of Commerce. The aim was to discuss significant topics in the maritime industry at the occasion of the Singapore Maritime Week.
HE Minh-Di Tang opened the session by highlighting the launch of the Joint Year of Sustainability (YOS) and upcoming events focused on circularity, decarbonization, green finance, and new energies. Mr Eric Banel, General Director for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries, and Aquaculture (DGAMPA) along with Anne Legrégeois (Loquen), Christine Ezcutari , Dylan VLOËBERGH-LAIR and Stephane Garziano emphasized France's efforts in decarbonizing the maritime industry and France as a maritime nation as well as the French pavilion under the French International Register (RIF).
During the roundtable discussion, participants delved into challenges such as the acceleration of decarbonization, digitalization and automation, and workforce development. Participants also shared their achievements and strategies, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to progress. M. Eric Banel reemphasized the support from France in driving the changes.
The meeting also showcased the synergy between French expertise and Singapore's maritime industry, laying the groundwork for future cooperation towards a greener, more resilient maritime future.
