French Chamber CSR Day 2019 : Let’s Clean The Beach Together
On 6 September 2019, over 530 participants took part in the French Chamber’s CSR Day 2019: Beach Clean Up
The 3rd edition of the French Chamber CSR Day, held on 6 September, was a success!
Held at Tanah Merah Beach 7, the participants had one mission - to clean up the waste debris along the coast. The result: nearly 800kg of waste (200 trash bags) was collected! This year’s event also drew a record number of more than 530 participants from over 40 companies. The great support from our business community truly marks a strong commitment and more awareness towards conserving our natural environment!
The French Chamber supports the efforts of the International Coastal Clean Up Singapore (ICCS). The ICCS volunteering programme aims to remove trash and collect data on debris from shorelines, waterways and beaches, while the information collected serves to educate the public on marine debris issues and to encourage positive change. Every year, the work of thousands of volunteers helps to protect coastal mangroves and wildlife.
This year’s clean up is just a small effort compared to the ongoing work required to keep Singapore’s coast pristine, and the French Chamber will continue to support the International Coastal Cleanup in the mission of environmental protection.
