Past Event| A Conversation with Mr. Jeffrey Siow, Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer at Enterprise Singapore

Thank you to Mr Jeffrey Siow, Managing Director & COO at Enterprise Singapore, for an insightful discussion this morning on the growth opportunities between France and Southeast Asia. Moderated by Mr Yoon Young Kim, Board Member at the French Chamber of Commerce and Cluster President, Singapore and Brunei at Schneider Electric, the dialogue was dynamic, engaging, and filled with a lot of questions from the audience.

The conversation shed light on the potential partnerships and avenues for growth in Southeast Asia despite global challenges. It highlighted the region's position as an oasis of opportunity, emphasizing its strong economic standing, with an anticipated ascent to the world's fourth-largest economy by 2030. Robust GDP growth in countries like Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, with increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), presents opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, energy, technology, and consumer goods.

Segments such Tech, Manufacturing & Engineering, Urban Solutions & Infrastructure Services, Lifestyle & Consumer, Trade & Connectivity, align strategically with global trends and present immense possibilities for collaboration between Southeast Asia and Europe. Specifically, the emphasis on sustainability, digitalisation, health & wellness signifies the shared interests and opportunities for joint ventures between Singapore enterprises, known for their capabilities in clean energy, smart cities, healthcare, and biomedical sectors, and their counterparts in France.

Thank you, Mr Jeffrey Siow, for your insights and for emphasizing the imperative of collaborative efforts to capitalise on Southeast Asia’s growth opportunities.
