Past Event | French-Singaporean Maritime Networking Event 2024

On the occasion of the Singapore Maritime Week, the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Singapore and the French State Minister for the Sea, hosted an exclusive French-Singaporean Maritime Networking Event at Riviera-One Fullerton. The event was honored by the presence of Minister of Transport, Mr. CHEE Hong Tat.

H.E. Minh Di TANG, French Ambassador in Singapore, inaugurated the session, followed by speeches from Minister of Transport, Mr. CHEE Hong Tat, and Mr. Éric BANEL, Director General for French Maritime Affairs, Fisheries, and Aquaculture (DGAMPA).

They emphasized the strong ties between the two nations, highlighting the launch of the Joint Year of Sustainability (JYOS) France-Singapore and ongoing discussions regarding environmental responsibility in the maritime industry. There was a shared sense of urgency in accelerating decarbonization and digitalization within the sector, with emphasis placed on French maritime assets such as the French flag's International Register (RIF), designed for tomorrow's shipping.

The speeches were followed by a networking session, where over 200 guests from the local and international maritime industries engaged with key stakeholders to address crucial challenges, particularly environmental ones. We extend warm thanks to Mr. TEO Eng Dih, CEO of MPA, for gracing the event with his presence.

Thank you to our sponsors Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, CMA CGM, GoNetZero™, GTT, and TotalEnergies Marine Fuels for their invaluable support in making this event a resounding success.
