Past Event | Innovation and Diverse Partnerships for a Low-Carbon Singapore

Spotlight on our latest Energy and Infrastructure Committee Meeting, focusing on “Innovation and Diverse Partnerships for a Low-Carbon Singapore," and featuring thought leaders from ENGIE, Google and Luther. Through distinctive, lively and creative interventions, the event highlighted the critical intersection of sustainability, innovation, and collaboration, reflecting Singapore’s ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The conversation covered key elements of the nation’s low-carbon roadmap—including energy transition, digital transformation, and regulatory alignment—while emphasizing how innovation and cross-sector partnerships are crucial enablers in this journey.

The panel featured L.Dosso, leading Projects and Strategic Partnerships – for ENGIE Research and Innovation in APAC; Ralph Sarmiento, Head of Southeast Asia Corporate Business at Google; and Wolfram Günther, International Tax and Foreign Registered Lawyer at Luther. Lanci highlighted ENGIE’s commitment to decarbonization through strategic research and services in green power, low-carbon cooling and green fuels including R&D-driven demonstrators such as the REIDS microgrid in Singapore, a globally recognized platform for sustainable energy innovation. Ralph showcased Google’s AI-powered tools like Google Vids and NotebookLM, which are transforming how organizations plan, collaborate, and generate insights for sustainability initiatives. Wolfram provided a legal perspective on the frameworks necessary to support such technological and environmental transitions, from data governance to cross-border regulations, a key for Luther. On top of the insightful presentation with key tools such as 5W & H, Ishikawa, it was a truly refreshing and innovative way used by the speakers to conduct the session combining interactivity, live and joint demos with an engaging presentation.

Key takeaways from the event emphasized the power of combining deep energy sector expertise with cutting-edge digital technologies to accelerate climate goals. ENGIE and Google demonstrated how joint innovation—through platforms, impactful services, learning journeys, and AI-enhanced content delivery—can scale awareness and action in the public and private sectors. The session also underlined the importance of integrating diverse perspectives across industries, geographies, and disciplines to develop sustainable and resilient solutions for a low-carbon future.
