Past Event | Maritime Committee Roundtable Discussion
The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, in partnership with the French Embassy, Cluster Maritime Français (CMF), and GICAN, recently hosted a Maritime Committee Roundtable Discussion. The roundtable brought together key leaders from the French maritime sector to explore collaborative opportunities and shape the future of maritime innovation and sustainability between France and Singapore.
This timely discussion occurred as we approach the renewal of the 2021 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the French Directorate of Maritime Affairs (DMA) and Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). It provided a platform for participants to delve into potential focus areas for the MOU’s renewal, laying the foundation for a robust roadmap to further strengthen bilateral maritime cooperation.
Mr. Arnaud Mathieu, Counsellor for Sustainable Development, Transport, and Energy for ASEAN countries at the French Embassy, delivered a comprehensive overview of the 2021 MOU. He highlighted achievements and potential avenues for expansion, sparking a discussion among attendees about aligning priorities to meet the evolving needs of both countries' maritime sectors.
Mrs. Doris Guillemet, Business Development Manager (Industry & Cleantech) at the French Chamber, outlined strategies for amplifying France’s visibility during Singapore Maritime Week and Sea Asia 2025, two pivotal events in the region’s maritime calendar. Participants shared their plans and explored joint initiatives to showcase France's maritime expertise and innovations.
The event concluded with a networking session, enabling participants to build connections and exchange actionable ideas for advancing collaboration and mutual growth.
