Past Event | Skills-based Hiring - the path to a more diverse and inclusive workforce

During this session, our participants had the opportunity to discuss skills-based hiring. This approach has been gaining traction and delivering benefits, including fostering a more diverse and inclusive workforce, achieving cost efficiencies through reduced turnover and more effective recruitment processes.

A warm thank you to our speakers Jayita Roy – SVP HR APAC at Adecco, Irene Yip – Senior HR Director at DFS and Francois Suquet - Group Vice President HR APAC at STMicroelectronics for sharing their knowledge in a conversation moderated by Don Rapley - Managing Director and Founder at TYC Transform Your Conversations.

Please find below the main key learnings:

  • Skills-based hiring benefits have shown better job performance, increased diversity and enhanced adaptability
  • HRBP to work closely with the line manager to define clear skill requirements
  • Leverage technology for personalised career journeys, mapping job opportunities and measure skills gap
  • Put the employee in the driver’s seat for self-assessment
  • Create a skills-based culture through training and internal mobility and challenge employees to unlearn and reskill
  • Emphasize inclusive hiring practices
