Past Event | The Power of Listening: Building Trust and Influence in Business
In today’s fast-paced business environment, effective listening is a game-changer. Led by Don Rapley, Managing Director at TYC Transform Your Conversations, this interactive workshop explored how deep listening can build trust, enhance negotiations, and strengthen professional relationships.
Through role-playing exercises designed to practice deep listening, the participants learned about:
- Understanding the impact of active listening on relationships and trust and recognising common listening pitfalls (e.g., listening to respond vs. listening to understand).
- How non-verbal cues (eye contact, body language, and tone) influence trust-building.
- The difference between open-ended, probing, and reflective questions and how to frame questions that help others clarify their thoughts and explore new solutions.
