Testimonials - Learning Expedition to Singapore FinTech Festival x SWITCH 2019
The 2019 integrated edition of Singapore FinTech Festival and Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) was a comprehensive showcase of FinTech and Smart City solutions and innovative technologies. The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore organised a learning expedition for companies in France to learn more about Singapore's Fintech and Smart City ecosystem.
During this event, the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore hosted a delegation of 15 companies from France - 5 Smart City companies in partnership with Bpifrance, and 10 FinTech companies. The goal was to understand the Singapore business ecosystem, and accelerate their business development through a series of B2B meetings organized with local financial institutions, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, local startups, investors, and potential technological partners.
The delegates attended the FinTech x SWITCH Festival, followed by a series of eventful meetings:
The FinTech delegates had an itinerary of site meetings at DBS Lab, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and were hosted by 80RR FinTech Hub with sharing experiences from BNP Paribas, UOB, and two Singaporean FinTech companies.
The Smart City delegates visited various innovation sites: Schneider Electric Innovation Hub, LTA office (Mobility Gallery), TUMCREATE and URA.
To mark the momentous week, several networking events took place at the Residence de France welcomed by the French Ambassador, His Excellency Marc Abensour, at the festival's "Choose France" booth, and in town with La French Tech Singapore.
Finally, the week culminated at the Asia Startup Summit 2019 where all the delegates pitched their business ideas and solutions to corporates and held further B2B meetings on site.
It was a busy and fruitful week of exchange and learning, and a great occasion to network and explore business opportunities.
